Evening Primrose Oil

Evening Primrose Oil is high in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), one of the Omega-6 essential fatty acids.  This polyunsaturated fatty acid is converted by the body into prostaglandin. Fatty acids are necessary for the body to function correctly.  Those that cannot be synthesized by the body are classified as "essential fatty acids".  Essential fatty acids must be provided in the diet.

Essential fatty acids are required by every cell in the body.  They are required for the creation and maintenance of new cells.  When converted into prostaglandins, they behave similarly to hormones, acting as chemical messengers and cellular process regulators.
